Actually this is my brother playing, but he is playing on my piano and I recorded this, so it kind of belongs to here I hope. grin

Criticism and comments are welcome.

Bump frown

After the case of the disappearing thread, I just wanted to make clear that, my brother's recording is posted with his permission and he is eager to learn what our members think about his performance.

So how did you end up with TWO extremely talented classical pianists in your family ?? (There must be an interesting story here !!) grin

I'm certainly not the best person to comment - as I'm not familiar with this concerto. It was interesting to hear the entire movement without orchestral accompaniment (even though the orchestra only plays a secondary role). Hakki - have you considered playing the accompaniment for your brother?? (Or perhaps that's tricky given that you only have one piano at home - which sounds beautiful, by the way.)

Overall this was a most impressive rendition - very clean - excellent dynamics - lovely phrasing - great finger work, etc. I enjoyed your brother's sensitive playing of the main thematic material (particularly the sections starting at 5:32, 8:22 and around 10:20). I was also impressed by the passage work between 6:20 and 8:20. In a few instances, the playing sounds a little rushed - and muddy - but these little slips are minor given the overall performance of the piece.

I REALLY ENCOURAGE other members here to devote 12 minutes to listening to this. thumb

I'm not familiar with this piece, but I think it's an excellent performance. More, please!

Dear carey
Thank you for your valuable comments. You really encourage me to study further this concerto. I am now thinking to go for the last mvt which is a real challenge when the speed it requires is considered.
In the meanwhile I am aware of my flaws for the first mvt and trying to improve especially those fast parts and also to control my playing speed to have more steady form.
For the last mvt second piano accompaniment will be necessary so I will ask hakki to study this part. Hope we make it smile

Now that brother saffet has registered and chimed in this has become an official "Members Recording", and saved me from the burden of replying. grin

BTW, carey the story is that, we are twins (though we don't resemble each other) and he plays a little bit better than me.

Ha ha - I was "waiting" for that story !! How interesting - not only that you are twins - but also because you both play so beautifully !!!!

Saffet - welcome to the forums !!!!!!! thumb

Great playing! I have kind of forgotten about the existence of this piece.
