Aimee, congrats on your last recital, I did enjoy your sonatina, that was so clear performance.

Loved the Glass, Wayne!

Wow that boy on the banjo is amazing.
Love the Heart of Glass arrangement as well.

I've still got Stevie Wonder on repeat play in my head.

Ragdoll, those kids are too cute (and too talented! waaaah!)

I know... it's sick. If I'd only begun piano at that age grin

I first saw these kids on Letterman's show and then at a Bluegrass show in Tennessee. I love the relaxed (sittin' on his feet) posture of the littlest one, no stress for him I see. Thanks for looking AimieeO.

Ragdoll

At first, she only flew when she thought no one was watching.

I keep being reminded of the strong friendships I've developed on this thread so I'm dropping by to say Hi.

The Grieg recital is drawing closer and this video encompasses my current situation in regard to it!

Keep well and talk soon, etc.

Great choice Timmy! I can't think of anything Stevie Wonder does that I don't like. Give me a day and maybe I'll come up with something I don' like. Probably not! grin

Griffin and Wayne - it great that you're dropping in again - makes me feel its like 'old times' again (though I've only been on PW for a year and a half - I must have aged a lot in that time to be saying that!).

Recaredo- it looks like you've got some more company again on this thread! For quite a while it looked like only a few people were posting here, and it now seems to have woken up somewhat. Or maybe it was the strange object that I posted at the start of this page which AimeeO said 'creeps her out' and may have put people off!!

Richard - yes we're hard at 'work' 'under pressure' with the grieg stuff, but it'll be worth it in spades, I'm sure - and its nice to meet in a place on PW where there's no work to do!

On the eve of the Grieg recital - next Saturday, 14th September, there will be a special post on the grieg recital thread which you might enjoy. So I hope you can visit the thread for a few minutes.

Since last night was Last Night of the Proms, I've found a small concert which appears to come from Germany - perhaps from a UK army base (if there are any British Soldiers still left there!) ? Otherwise, if its just for German people - I think they're really good sports singing our nationalistic songs... It seems fun, but wierd.

ooooh look at everyone popping in!

Dispy, that thing WAS creepy! Although I thought I ran everyone off with Valerie June's "Shotgun." I liked it though, so *there*.
Good to see you all, Richard, Wayne, Griffin, Ragdoll, and timmy.. Me and Recaredo were all by ourselves, and I certainly need guidance. Thanks for the complement on my recital piece, btw, Recaredo!

Ok, I have things:

I've been loving this..

I've also found this amusing, and I don't normally watch cute-baby-thing videos. But she makes the most awesome faces when she sings Elvis, and I love her random outbursts of affection. Let her get past the 80 "Daddy!!" outbursts, and about a minute in, she sings. And at about 2:25, she bangs her head to Glory, Glory Hallelujah.. classic!

Greetings everyone! Aimee, you were right about needing at least two months past the retirement date to begin getting used to new things. Most retirees are telling me it takes about a year. I'm inclined to agree with the one-year estimate.

I hope you, Recaredo, Wayne, Richard, Ragdoll, Dipsy, Timmyab, TJ, and others know I've certainly haven't been ignoring your fine postings. I'm lurking on a regular basis. (That sounds a bit creepy!) laugh

I still don't have much time for music postings. However, I have this short offering today. I used to listen to it in my car while driving to work. I've missed hearing it lately and thought I'd share it with my friends here at RST.

Here is "Sei Lob und Preis mit Ehren" by J.S. Bach. It is performed by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra. Ton Koopman is the Conductor.

Enjoy!

Glad to see you all posting over here!

One of those pieces of music I can't stop listening to.

Sometimes I wonder why the female voice can be so beautiful.

I fell in love with this Otis Redding song years ago from the Rolling Stones Live LP, Gimme Shelter.

It's been a regular feature of my guitar repertoire for some years and this evening I've been teaching it (and sweep picking) to my youngest and thought I'd share it.

Recaredo - don't wonder too much, because some female voices aren't so hot!

I heard this the other day and forgot how awesome it was!

Greetings everyone! I've been missing the sounds of one of my favorite jazz saxophonist, Grover Washington (R.I.P.). Here is "Can You Stop the Rain?". Enjoy!

What a natural talent that little baby has, she's adorable.

I grew up in the sticks so this song strikes a chord with me.Of course now that I live in a town I yearn for the country again.

What a fantastic voice she had.Perfect really.
