It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Michael: As an Ahmad Jamal fan, I took a spin on Crystal, which is fortunately available on Spotify. I'm not sure whether Keith Jarrett fans will dig it, but what an amazing album. Just a fantastic group of originals. The band members were unknown to me, but they are fantastic.
As a side note, I love how he uses a percussionist, like the recent Chick Corea concert I saw, where he also had both a drummer and a percussionist. I'd love someday to play with both a drummer and a percussionist.

Cool, glad you like it. Jamal's piano work on that album is superb.

Years ago, I was in a reggae band, and we had both a drummer and a conga player (who also doubled as a flute player), which really added to our sound. Being of Latin blood myself, more percussion is always better in my opinion
