As many of you have noticed in the "testing" thread - Cheryl (casinitaly) is now officially a moderator in the ABF, replacing Yuri who hasn't been around for a while.

Please join me in congratulating (or consoling!) her on her new status.

Congratulations, Cheryl! In honor of your new position, I promise not to start any threads entitled "Einaudi is way better than Bach" for at least a couple of months.

Greg, (BB Player) is a fantastic mentor moderator and will be a big help to you… he has helped me out a few times, since he is actually a global moderator (has mod authority on all the forums). (Thanks again, Greg!).

If I can offer you any advice, it would be… ah, let’s see, be polite but firm, accretive but gentle, sensitive but thick skinned, wise but aware. Oh yea, be prepared to take some criticism, constructive or not. (I’ve been called a bully, an abuser of power and a few other names I’ll not mention.)

Also, remember the old saying, you can please all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can’t please all the people all the time.

It is indeed an honor and a privilege to serve as a moderator on this great forum. It is a way of giving something back for all the benefits we get from the forum. Oh yea, one more thing… you will be compensated well.

Sweet06 - if you are writing directly to me, then I don't mind at all if you call me Cheryl-- however if you refer to me, it might be better to use casinitaly because hat way everyone will understand to whom you are referring.

“Achieved the up & above status”? Well, yes and no, or possibly...

Although it is an honor to serve as a volunteer moderator on Piano World, there have been times when I’ve been stressed out and lost sleep due to confrontations with members over moderator decisions I’ve made, or not made. I’ve often wondered if it is really worth the emotional stress, and anxiety, and without compensation. I’m not complaining or griping, (okay, that might be debatable ) but I’m just saying.

On the other hand, you’ve heard the old saying, “if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen”.

Cheryl, I think you have what it takes to be a moderator on PW! And, apparently, Frank Baxter and BB Player/Greg does too.

Thanks again to Frank Baxter for providing such a wonderful internet community for us piano enthusiast!
