Boostybleep - what a nice recording! Very clean, light and airy. Congratulations on this.

Hello rnaples,
Thanks for your kind words. I want to listen to yours too. I'll definitely try to participate in the piano bar and the recital later on. It is fun and those are great outlets for pianists and piano pupils to help keep their works going. I'm practicing some new age music along with the classical discipline. smile

Nice playing of the Bach Prelude in C Mae L, thanks for sharing. I preferred the slower version, I think you get a little more room to be expressive when played slower.

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

Hi Earlofmar,
Thanks for listening/watching. I wanna listen to yours too... i like the slow one too as i was more into the music n imagination when I played the slow one. For the faster one, I felt like I just wanna press the right buttons and get the job done that day...

Mae L, you can listen to my attempt at this classic here. I struggled to play even at the slower speed but I had only been playing for under six months. I would like to return to this piece in the future and improve on my performance.

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

Nice one, Bootsybleep! That's a neat little tune. I don't know the accents, so it sounded pretty flawless to me.

Welcome! And well done smile

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I try to listen to a lot of the recordings here but dont feel I have the experience to comment or critique other than say I rather enjoy most of them. Next up something in the piano bar I suspect.

What a great thread. When /if I can make the time to figure out how to make a recording AND polish one of my nearly-there pieces for recording, this is *definitely* where I will start.

We're looking forward to it. There's lots of folks here willing to help with how to record, too, so feel free to ask.

So, no one has used this thread in a while and I had to email a recording to my teacher, so I figured I'd give this a shot. I've only been playing around 5 months, and I think this song is a bit above me, but here it is anyway. It's called Heather by Dennis Alexander, and I've only had it a day so it's probably pretty rough! I'm mostly wanting to make sure I set up the dropbox stuff right, but any comments on my playing are welcome too of course.

edit: this is only the first ~half of the song actually, whoops

Bamburg - when I click on the link it says I have to sign in frown Is there a "public share" link or something like that? I'd love to hear your piece. You'll be so glad you've recorded it, 4 or 5 years from now smile I've been listening to old recital pieces of mine this evening, and even I can tell I've improved!

Thanks. That was beautiful! Very lyrical and musical - what a great way to start your recording history - I'm glad you got this thread going again. Well worth listening to.

Wow! That was very good! Only thing I didn't like was that we didn't get to hear all of it smile

Thanks so much Bamburg, I enjoyed that!

Thank you for the kind words. Maybe I'll post the entire thing when it's a bit more polished. I should probably find a better place for my microphone as well, that sound quality is awful!
