What is the function of the left pedal on a kawai k-2? I know the right pedal is the sustain, the middle pedal is the soft pedal( don't know real name, but it muffles all the notes and lock for practice mode), and te left pedal does nothing that I can hear..... I don't have experience with acoustic pianos only used electronic in the past and only had one pedal...

Actually the middle pedal is not the soft pedal. It's typically called a practice pedal or mute pedal, designed for quiet practice, not for any musical effect. The left pedal is the soft pedal. The effect can be subtle, depending on how it's adjusted. Sometimes the rod inside is dislodged and it isn't working at all. If adjusted well it should soften the volume by about 20-30%.

When my K3 first arrived, I found that the left pedal rod wasn't attached at all. Come to think of it, it was like that at the dealershiptoo. Open up the bottom of the piano ( push up on the leaf spring beneath the keyboard and carefully pull the board out), and see if the rod connecting the hammer rail to the trap work (pedal levers) is in place. If it's just dangling, try to put it back into the holder.

Sounds like dealer and or delivery crew did not do their job.

If I remember correctly, your piano is new. Give a call to the store and they can fix that ASAP.

It's much easier to bash a Steinway than it is to play one.
