Dynamobt, glad you enjoyed Victor Borge’s sketch.

Aimee, I liked “I go to sleep”, that girl has a nice voice indeed.

Timmy, that was an interesting piece of music; I wonder how the bird singing was made, sounds musical and realistic at the same time.

can anyone explain how to post so that the actual video shows up in the post and not just the link?

also does everyone just post whatever music they find interesting or does it have to be something particular?

As far as I know Ronnie Ronalde just has a gift for imitating bird song.
I first got to know this recording when it was featured in the BBC series "The Singing Detective".
I was browsing through my mother's sheet music the other day and found Ketelbey's own piano arrangement which is worth checking out. It's out of copyright and is available online.

Thanks Recaredo! smile

Here is some music from Nina Simone. The first is jazzy but also sounds like Bach:

and here is another of her songs that I love!:

Greetings everyone! It's really great to see RST back to its flow smile I don't get much time or chance to post here often but I try to at least check regularly what's happening in RST. A big thanks and salute to Recaredo, AimeeO and freshers who, in spite of the pressure of their daily works, find time to keep RST alive! Seriously guys, kudos to you all! thumb

I randomly listened to some of the music posted in this page and got really interested. For example, Ronnie Ronalde is one of most amazing artists I've been introduced so far! Thanks a lot Timmy smile I searched for a while to find more about him and found this website containing a big collection of his other recordings (all are freely available in mp3):
http://archive.org/details/RonnieRonalde-01-88

I also loved the Victor Borge Recaredo, thanks smile Looks like I've to collect more of his videos too grin

AimeeO, I got familiar with Sia through this song:

She has an "interesting" voice indeed. But to me, sometimes she distorts her voice too much.

I'm quite excited today to find about Josef Hofmann who is often considered to be one of the greatest virtuoso pianists of 20th century. Here is one example of his majestic performance of Chopin's Berceuse Op. 57:

Nice to see you Rupak! I hope you’re doing well, man.

Loved Hofmann’s recording. Btw, its sound quality is good, despite the recording was made in 1937.

Hi all!

In this video we can listen to Miah Persson singing "Mitridate Re di Ponto" in Salzburg, she is an outstanding soprano, without a doubt.

And the eternal question: How could a child aged fourteen compose this music? Maybe it's better just enjoying the music than trying to find an answer to such a question wink

Wow timmy! I thought the whistle was someone's voice at first.

I like the Nina, Valencia!

Rupak, I agree with you on Sia. I liked the first thing I heard, but she does seem to wander off a bit. She reminds me of Tori Amos - she started doing the same thing.

Oh I think Recaredo has a crush! She does have an awesome voice, so you are justified.
I wish I could be around more to keep up with posting with you, since Wayne and Rossy are treating us like red-headed stepchildren grin , and griffin's off being retired and everything.

This awful semester of classes will be done August 8. Can. Not. Wait. Nothing makes you want to play more piano than not having time!

I've always loved this soundtrack. Here's the Cincinnati Pops doing the Hymn to Red October.

I guess I should look up what they're singing about.

This movie had great music too. There's actually two musical releases for this movie - both the soundtrack and the score. The soundtrack is solid, and the score just has something about it I love.

I think I went on and on about this one in the past, but I'm going to do it again. I never get tired of this one from A Good Year.

Here's a (now famous) clip of an elderly grandmother trying out some drums in a shop. Good for her - I guess you're as old as you feel!

Apparently Fiona Apple can approach several genres easily. She has a great voice indeed.

Gorgeous, recaredo!

I love this movement from Beethoven's "Emperor."

I wonder if Ritcher played it?
