Elvis's piano would get much more..because its noted he did play his piano...as for Englebert, who would care?

same goes for Sinatra's piano..unless Sammy Cahn or Nat Cole played on it at Sinatra's house..its the provenance..

Near the train station in Boppard. Humperdinck lived here for several years. Perhaps one of our German friends could research the archives to see what kind of piano he owned.

Just for the fun of it: Cole Porter's 5'7" Knabe grand piano from 1952, sold at Bonham Butterfield's auction in Los Angeles for $16.250 in May of this year.

Suddenly I'm reminded of a local piano store that has a 1960s era Baldwin D (prior to the SD-10) that has a whole bunch of signatures, including Liberace, Ferrante and Teicher, Jimmy Swaggart as well as several other I don't immediately remember. He has a $200,000 price tag and it's a pretty poor instrument. No, I didn't add an extra zero. $200,000!!!!! Apparently signed Baldwins are all over the place.

I thought I read somewhere Les Paul signed a piano, I don't think it added value to the piano.. now a guitar I can see that increasing in value.. but not a piano..

You are kidding, right? smile

Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimmy Swaggart and Mickey Gilley (the country artist) were cousins, and all three can play the piano very well, and have a similar style.

Our own Sally Phillips told me she used to tune for Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart, as well as Stevie Wonder. No wonder I felt like a celebrity when she tuned my piano. smile

Perhaps a piano which has been owned and used by someone famous might add some value, but just a signature? My own piano was signed by André Previn, which adds virtually no value in my opinion.
