You would run screaming from the room if I showed up dressed like that.

Makes ya wonder how Diane selects her tuners. Hammer size?

hahahahahaha funny guys!!
Well I wouldn't "run out of the room screaming" ... I'd run at that GUY screaming! Especially if he put the "Kiss me, I'm a piano tuner" shirt on! wink hahahahahaha

But, I think if I had a piano tuner doing this to my piano, I would for sure ... RUN OUT OF THE ROOM SCREAMING!!!

But seriously, wear what you like (with deodorant) grin, but don't let my piano wear "dents" when you leave!!!

My tech/tuner asks me for a "towel" so he can put his computer and tuning stuff on top of my piano before he starts tuning. He leaves my piano in better shape than when he started!

That's evident to me that this guy is deaf ... he could not be a piano tuner, not enough muscle in the ears that is apparent on the picture wink

I don't think rich people care what you wear as long as they are getting a deal of some sort. I had one drive all the way out to my Kentucky shop in the middle of nowhere, pull up within three feet of the door then call me on my phone.

I get to the door and am looking at their rear engine Audi and they say to me within sight of each other if I had umbrella service since there was a light shower passing by.

Umbrella Service sign is now by the door. 2 honks

The umbrella operator is out having lunch with the grape peeler, they should be back in half an hour.

Leaving it better than I found it is the hallmark of my service, both in sound and appearance.

And yes, personal hygiene is a necessity.

I think I could make some money if I marketed a full line of personal hygiene products called TunerTweak.

We don't like to admit it, but most piano teachers hold their breath while their "grand piano" is getting tuned and worked on!

My piano teacher owned 4 grand pianos. 2 were for teaching and sat side by side, she had a baby grand at her beach house, and she had a $150,000 Borsendorfer in her livingroom. We were only allowed to play it before exams or if we asked permission to play it before our lesson (older students only)!!!! And this Bosendorfer had a video camera taping it 24 hours a day.

One student, who didn't know that it was video monitored, took a pencil and gouged it up on the one side. Her parents got the video tape of their daughter using a pencil to gouge the far right inside of the piano & she did some major damage and her parents had to pay the cost of repair. Pretty penny!!! So, we teacher's, love our pianos like they are our children!

I don't let anyone put "anything" on my baby grand piano! They only have to make that "mistake" once!! grin

The umbrella thing is priceless, especially since in Florida, we dodge afternoon rains every day during the summer. Clients will offer me an umbrella, but it's only water and dries before my next appointment. My hands are full, so they would have to walk with me and hold the umbrella next to me - and I would probably get just as wet as if I just walked quickly to the car. This is where the hatch back earns it's keep as I store the tools. Most days I'm lucky - it pours during a tuning, then clears up when it's time to leave. I suppose one of those umbrella hats would do the trick!

I wear my car to work. It's so small, I don't get in it....I put it on!
