Yes I know smile It is a long story.... It will cost me another two weeks to complete my order, until I will be able to measure it myself...

Probably better to wait and get the specs from the piano. You never know some on-line rascal could give you wrong specs on purpose.

Hello, you can use a "standard" bore order on a piano that size.

the concern could eventually that the bore proposed have too strong angles, (often they angle up to note 65 while it is not always necessary) the other way around is not really a concern.

Hammers are all the same dimension so that part is easy.

You could also use a picture from above to have an idea of the angles. they can be a little less pronounced than originally, that will help with travelling and other things.

I am unsure but seem to recall 10>11 gon for basses and 110- even 108) to 100 grad for the first medium section.

You could also send samples to the hammer maker. First and last hammer from each section including tha shanks.

Or you could ask the supplier.

I asked a lot of time and never was given any boring data by my supplier, even "standard" boring (which is common for uprights)

Secrecy ! It could be easy to measure so I dont understand the point and it is not easy to understand the refernces of pre bored heads then.

Yes I asked too. Interesting, I was given an offer for Yamaha bored and glued to shank hammer set for the model, but it is too expencive to me. So, there are somewhere the proper measures. I assume by Yamaha is like by Steinway, for all models it is possible to have all the data, or not? Steinway also offers preglued hammers to shank if you give them the serial number of the piano. I thought there is something similar for Yamaha. Never mind I will wait until I get home and take the proper measurement.

Well I have seen a 1890+- Chickering grand where all hammers where bored the same direction (bass hammers with the orientation of medium hammers if I recall correctly) .

Don't know if they where original or if someone bored them that way.
