Hello my fellow piano technicians!

I've been trying to publish several articles about my innovations in piano restoration in the Piano Technicians Journal. One of the devices that I offered for consideration (see image below) was the Piano Restringing Device. The chairman of the Editor Advisory Committee compared my restringing device to some kind of "a common stringing center" that I've never heard of.

If anyone has any information about a "common stringing center", please let me know.

Hello Gene! I can't make out much detail from the posted photos-but "a common stringing center" probably refers to any fixture that holds the wire so it can be unspooled and cut during the stringing process.

If any of my fellow techs or interested pianists have the opportunity you should try to visit Gene's shop in LA. He has the most finely organized and esthetically integrated shop I have ever experienced. Gene is an artist!

Gene, I would think a picture story tour of your shop published in the PTG Journal would be most interesting.

Is it a setup to hold large rolls of wire and make the eyelets ?

The common gigs I have seen to have the large rolls in place are some sort of tall conical support that turns on itself , where they can be installed.
A case to keep all rolls with all sizes in place, is necessary also.

Nice design , I am more used to see things made of wood, what counts is how useful it is.

Thank you guys! I really appreciate you trying to explain the idea of the "common stringing center."

I had submitted a introductory draft for them to see if they are interested in publishing about it, you can read it by clicking this link:

This is the response I got:
From what I see there, it is a common stringing station that looks beautiful with many things on top of it. If there is not enough technical content to see why this is such a good tool, it does not serve the readers.

To me, this obviously means they are not interested.

From what I know, Shaff, Renner, PacificSupply, Pianotek do not sell anything for restringing. Maybe metal cassettes and boxes, but nothing compared with a more advanced device.

Hi, They are a little hard on you there !

I like the old model, look more like what I know.

But the new one, with moisture control is indeed impressive !

Thanks for the article
