I'm considering to buy new high quality headphone.
I have CA95 + AKG studio 240 today.

I really want to try HD650.

I've read that those headphone are very "difficult".
My question is: do i need an amp for hd650?

Thank you

I have the HD598 and have no problems and have very good results. The amp in CA95 is plenty powerful, so I don't think the HD650 would run into any issues. I have considered HD650, but I want to use the headphones with my laptops and ipod sometimes, at the end I settled on the 598.

I saw that HD598 has lower impedence then hd650. Hope that kawai ca95 and hd650 will be a good pair

HD650 has an impedance of 300 ohms. It is "difficult to drive"; that is, if it's not properly amplified, you won't bring the best out of it.

I'm using HD598; which has an impedance of just 50 ohms. Even with that, I pair it with a Fiio E11 amplifier when used with my iPhone to make the music a notch better. The HD598 works great with my Yamaha P155.

Not to discourage you from trying HD650. But if you are not sure, a sure alternative is HD598. It's an EXCELLENT headphone. Some even go so far as to say that HD598 is not inferior to HD650; just different. That already tells you a lot about HD598.

I already have E12 Montblanc amplifier and also a nova N3 player
But i'm not interested in portable music. I know that HD650 is not for that.
I'm interested in HD650 for Kawai CA95.
I don't know if, with an impedence of 300, i need to buy a good amplifier (for example Maverick AudionTubemagic D1) for a good listening experience with Kawai CA95

I'm almost certain the HD650 will be just fine with the CA95.

A suggestion:

If you use low settings of the "Volume" control with AKG 240 headphones, you should be fine with the HD650. There will be enough "headroom" in the piano's headphone amplifier to handle it.

If you use almost-maximum settings of the "Volume" control with AKG 240 headphones, you might have trouble with the HD-650.

If I were designing a high-end piano like the CA95, I would put in a headphone amp that would drive _anything_. I bet that's what Kawai did.

I have both a HD650 and a HD800 and both are fine on a CA65 with the volume set at about half and the headphone setting set to low. I actually have more problem driving a HD570 which has a lower impedance and strangely enough require the volume to be set at the maximum level
