I hope Mr. S.H. is okay…

Actually, I think a lot of long-time members here decide to take a hiatus of sorts from time to time, for whatever reason. Some get bored or lose interest. It can happen.

At the moment, I’m too hooked on the place to go anywhere, but things do change and people move on to seek out new horizons and new experiences.

I think he has to move his llamas to their summer home around this time. That could be what's going on.

Are you sure about that? I thought s/he was permanently banned from PW?

Rumor has it he's in seclusion at a Malibu beach house working feverishly on the original music for a new Broadway musical tentatively titled "SpeedoMania"...he contacted me about writing the lyrics...I'm seriously considering...

Last time I took a hiatus it was because I was unable to log into Piano World for almost a year for reasons yet to be explained. Poor Kathleen (LoveChopinTooMuch) is in the same boat right now. I have know idea how to help her because I have not idea why I was suddenly "allowed" back in. The problem somehow fixed itself, or someone lifted a curse, or the sunspots got aligned or something.

Slow down and do it right.

That's very strange --- In that situation I would suggest contacting Frank - you don't have to be logged in to see the "contact" information. ..... How very weird. I wonder if you accidentally got banned?? I would say it would be worth Kathleen's while to contact the admins and see what is going on .

Hard to fathom, or in UK speak: not bloody likely.

But contacting Frank directly is a very good idea. He is, after all, the one who flips all the switches around here.

I'm here, I'm here! Thanks for the concern Carlos. You see, we go up to our lodge in the mountains for the summer and the location is pretty rural.

"Rural" means our water is supplied by rain collection [gutters flowing into underground cistern holding tanks]. Our heater is a wood burning stove. Most appliances are propane powered and our garbage is an incinerator.

Needless to say, our satellite high speed internet connection that I pay $100 bucks a month for is literally slower than dial up. {and that's on a good day assuming there are no clouds, wind, rain or even a flock of birds flying overhead because if there is the connection won't even work!]

Anyway, we are extremely busy in the summer months up here [I say "up" because our ranch is located at nearly 8,000 high] as I am constantly working on building roads, breaking my backhoe, and then spending the next few days fixing it only to break something else.

I am in the process of putting the finishing touches on a road that switches back and forth up a 45* mountain and my nerves are a bit shot as there is NO room for error. The road is really cool though as it meanders through the massive pine trees going up the mountain with an incredible view at the top.

Today I'll bring my camera and take a few pics and post them up later. It may take a long while however because the only thing more pathetic than my download speed is my upload speed.
