You may want to address whether you have the capability to study with a good teacher. Otherwise, you may receive many posts advising this.

Every day we are afforded a new chance. The problem with life is not that you run out of chances. In the end, what you run out of are days.

All the music you list is non-classical. You might want to post this question in the "Piano -- Non-Classical" forum.

The series of books by Tim Richards -- "Improvising Blues Piano" and 2 jazz books -- is excellent. But it starts at an intermediate level. You need some playing ability before you start them.

Welcome to the forums. Being able to play competently by ear is a commendable goal.

I recommend looking over the following:
-Link 1 (paraphrased tease: "'books' often seem to contradict when in reality, they may very well mean the same thing... What's needed is a hands-on approach, not a book")
-Link 2
-Link 3
