Hi everyone! Well, before a little periode of inactivity (i was preparing my concerts of course's end and finishing my pieces) I'm very happy to show you this piece, the densest i've ever worked on. The score is practically a black spot, haha! smile

The fantasy has a very imponent sound and there, the master Bach uses disonances totally unusual at the time. That mixed up with the fabulous Szántó's arrengement make the piece that I present to you.

I don't need to say many things about the fugue, the magic of the counterpoint makes everything, so the best thing you can do is listening to it.

Thank you to all you for  watching the video and I hope you like it, and thank you to Mr. Marc-André Hamelin, who I was playing this piece live and I liked it so much that I decided to have a try on it!!   grin

Here I post also the score, if you want to read it while you listen o it, you can do it http://petrucci.mus.auth.gr/imglnks...taisie_et_fugue_pour_orgue_BWV542_2H.pdf

Great playing as always, and thanks for sharing once again with us! I was not familiar with the Szántó transcription, only knowing Liszt's more famous arrangement. Certainly Szántó adds tons of extra notes to the Fantasie, but come to the fugue and the playing field (so to speak) is a bit more leveled.

Their respective transcriptions then become much more similar. I have performed the piece on the organ, it is a nasty piece of business. crazy

Thank you very much!! As I've written in my post, I heard this arrangement to Marc-André Hamelin and I wondered why he played this instead of the Liszt's more famous arrangement but I found the answer when I compared both versions.

In my opinion, Szántó's version is much more accurate one and more well-written than Liszt's one, and it gets and organ effect much more similar to an organ than Liszt.

Anyway I agree with you, this is a monster of piece and I love to play it laugh
