Hi all,

As a student, I never did these things, but I do recall my friends at that time giving recitals that were for MTNA "advancement." As in, an MTNA judge would be in the audience and pass that student on to Level 8 or whatever. I've exhausted my google skills and can't seem to find details on that program-can anyone offer insight? ABRSM does something similar, it looks like, and their rep/tech requirements for their "exams" were easy to find.

Thanks for any help!

MTNA as a national organization does not have exams. There are competitions. However, some state affiliates have their own syllabus programs called by different names.

If you go to www.mtna.org, you can link to the state you are in and find out if your state has such a program.
