Again, thanks to everybody for the support and advice. My baby arrived today and the movers managed to get it set up without tipping it on its lyre smile
Here are a few pics...sorry for their size, but I'm excited!

I may be a little biased, but what a great looking piano, and a great placement. (Just watch the sunlight.)

Now THAT'S what I call a piano room. (facing north I assume.) Congratulations and ENJOY!

Simply stunning. thumb That area looks like it was designed for a piano.

Again, thanks all! I am ecstatic! As was surmised above, that bay area of the living room does, indeed, face North. No direct sunlight. I also have a deflector for my HVAC floor vent to avoid temperature changes. The cathedral ceiling seems to capture just the right amount of sound, projecting it out into the foyer.

SideShow, I believe the suggested retail price of the 168T is $29500 or something like that.

Broke in the Polonaise Militaire as soon as it was set up...now on to more Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Bach...

smile

Hurrah! No house is a home without a piano, and that looks like a fine example of both thumb

That is GAWJUSS! Love it!

For some reason, I couldn't open this in MSIE. Had to go to FireFox.

Let us know how it sounds during acclimation to your house. Did you buy it locally or was it in a truck for a long time?

Congratulations!

Beautiful!

I've got a window like that, but it faces south and it has 2 heating vents under the windows. I put my piano about 10 feet away.

Wonderful, beautful piano! Congratulations!.

Vis the windows & sunlight: I also have my grand in a room surrounded by floor to ceiling windows.
I'm so paranoid that just before delivery, my wife put up some nice sheers and had a company come in and install the latest and greatest 3-M film coating on the windows. The film is almost completely transparent but blocks 99.9% of UV rays and something like 63% of total solar energy.

Enjoy your Estonia.

Wow. that is all I can say,Wow.

Absolutely gorgeous piano in an absolutely gorgeous setting. Glad the window faces north.

I have my piano in front of a window that faces north and have never had any problems. No direct (or even indirect sunlight).

Enjoy that beauty. Gaby Tu

Wow, it looks amazing in black. I should convince my wife to move to the US so that we can purchase a bigger house, I will then be able to get my Estonia 190 without sacrifcing the dining room...

Elegant piano in an elegant setting. I love the arched windows and that the floor matches the inside of the piano! I can imagine how beautiful it will look from the outside with candles in the background, a spotlight on the piano and you playing. I can almost envision the carolers on the front lawn this Christmas!

I can only repeat what everyone else has said--absolutely outrageously beautiful piano, house, and setting. I could only dream of any one of those three. Congrats!!

So, pmichael, are you an MD?

Oooh... That piano's looking great in that room. Having recently taken delivery of a brand new grand myself a few days ago, I definitely know how you're feeling about now. smile

Even broke out Polonaise Militaire, like you did, not long after the movers set it up. Crazy coincidence, that.

Congratulations on your purchase and enjoy your Estonia!

definitely play while the kiddies nap.. they like it... and certainly will if they get used to it. it is also great practice to play softly. my children actually beg me to play as they fall to sleep at nite.
