Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to build a certain repertoire so I can play piano at cafes. Does anyone know of some good intermediate-advanced pieces that are somewhere along the lines of these pieces that I can already play or am working on:

Je te veux - Satie
Sarabande no. 3 - Satie
Blue and Green (piano solo) - Davis/Evans
Pinapple Rag - Joplin
Something Doing - Joplin
Tango til your sore - Tom Waits
Alice - Tom Waits

I like Gershwin pieces that I have heard too. I think that cool jazz, avant-garde, impressionist music, ragtime, classical blues/jazz hybrid, cocktail, is all welcome.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any Joplin rag except the Maple Leaf Rag which is probably the hardest one.

For Gershwin there are numerous books with arrangements of Gershwin Songs for almost every skill level. Gershwin made arrangements of 18 of his songs in the Gershwin Songbook.

Debussy:Reverie, Arabesque No.1, Girl With The Flaxen Hair

There are hundreds or even thousands of books with arrangements of popular songs at almost every level. You could join PianoFiles and have access to several million sheets.

Hello and welcome.

It sounds like a lot fun...preparing to play at cafes, so I will be glad to pitch in with a couple of pieces.

Vince Guaraldi, "Cast Your Fate to the Wind", will be easy compared to what you already have.
Piano arrangement of Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man", will also be easy for you.

PS. All the suggestions pianoloverus made are great choices as I love playing pieces by Debussy myself.

Have fun

Charles Peck (American)--Metropolitan
Debussy--various pieces
Grieg--various pieces

How about a cool tango by Albéniz?

"I don't play accurately - anyone can play accurately - but I play with wonderful expression. As far as the piano is concerned, sentiment is my forte. I keep science for Life."

Great! I've listened and added pretty much all your suggestions to my to-do list. Thanks a bunch. If anyone else has suggestions, feel free to keep them coming.

You can't go wrong with a Chopin Nocturne or two.
