I have played a couple of GH1's. It is not my favorite instrument. It was a starter grand in the Yamaha line and depending on your level of playing ability it might be acceptable. By that I mean if you are just beginning or just play for simple pleasure I am sure it would work. I am a Yamaha owner but have a larger Conservatory Instrument. Just my 2 cents worth.

To get some idea, try checking the classifieds here, craigslist, eBay, and pianomart for the same model/age of instrument. It's generally considered not to be as nice as the similarly-sized G1, C1, GC1 models. The fact that it's white will probably lower the value nowadays, as white pianos are considered out of style.

Also, knowing your location would be helpful (this is a worldwide forum), and "very good condition" isn't useful data, as everyone says their piano is in very good condition... To me, very good condition requires regular maintenance (tuning, voicing, regulation as needed), the instrument is kept clean inside and out (including the action cavity and soundboard), some sort of humidity control in exceptionally dry/moist/variable parts of the US, and the piano passes a technician's inspection, assuming I like how the instrument looks, plays, and sounds. Oh, and I keep meticulous records and receipts of all work done on my piano and am glad to provide my regular technician's name and number as a reference.

People often attach the labels "like new", "less than 50 hours use", and "very good condition" when the pianos are actually neglected heaps needing hundreds/thousands of dollars worth of maintenance and repairs...

Kind of hard to say, without seeing the piano. Like the others said, do some research on used Yamaha GH1's for sale on the net and see what average you come up with.

I saw a 2001 model with the French legs on the Atlanta CL for $9500. My gut tells me $5K to $7K might be a good ball-park, but I'm speculating/guessing.

Why not get a piano tech to inspect it and provide you with an estimated value?

Good luck, and keep us informed.

Rick

I'd guess anywhere between $0 and $5500, completely dependent on your local market and the condition/playability of the instrument. I don't mean to be negative, but you still give us no real useful information to make an informed guess. It's like asking, "How much is a 1997 Honda Civic worth" without showing me the mileage, maintenance history, carfax, test drive, and mechanic's inspection...pretty difficult to answer.
