Okay, I've come up with another stupid idea (well, maybe I should stop calling them stupid ideas because the last one I started got 300 posts laugh ), and in this one someone will post a picture of a little tidbit of a piece of music (a measure, a few notes, whatever) and the rest of us will try to figure out what piece it's from. Concertos count; chamber pieces do not. For example, Person X posts this:

Person Y would then name the piece (Rachmaninoff 3/2) and then, if they wanted, post another picture.

This should be interesting. ha grin

OK, here's one:

This is pretty easy, I think. And I'm working on it.

Well, it might be difficult for someone if they're three sheets to the wind!

Great idea - but perhaps not so much fun for someone (like me) who doesn't know how to post a "little picture of a little tidbit of a piece of music." grin

Of course, I'm always open to learning something new.

Okay - well, now you will learn something new! smile

The easiest option (this is the way I'm doing it) is to find an online copy of the score you'd like to extract something out of (most scores can be found on this site) and then take a screenshot of the part you want to put in your post. Then just use the image tool on the PW Full Reply screen to insert the image. smile

Try this one (it's also fairly easy, but could be challenging for some, I don't know):

Nope, I think it's from a Debussy prelude...une Barque has 3 sharps and is written in quasi-perpetual motion!

I know, I was just joking around because of the "sailing" and "wind" comments from pianoloverus and Piano*Dad. ha

Hint:

An extremely popular piece by an extremely popular composer.

Have fun!

Especially when the name of the piece is in the filename for the excerpt.
