I spend a lot of time sitting in hotel rooms and would like to have a light DP to carry with me so I can continue to practice. Any suggestions? Obviously, fully weighted keys would be required and reasonable weight. How about the Casio CP-120?

The Casio CDP-120 is very basic in both its features but also in its technology as it is based on models from 7-8 years ago. I would step up a little for better action, sound engine, and responsiveness. The current frontrunners for portable, weighted and affordable are Yamaha P105B & Casio Privia PX-150. IMO, the minimum would be a Yamaha P35B.

I think Sam's suggestion about the Casio is a good one...

I have a Casio Privia 310, and it is a superb, inexpensive digital. I paid $599 (plus tax) at Guitar center. It is light weight, has decent built-in speakers, and the weighted keys feel okay. And, it sounds very good when used with a Keyboard amp or PA system.

My grandchildren and I have pounded on the Casio pretty hard, and it has held up well (keeps them off my acoustics )

Do you travel by air or car? If by air, and if your budget is flexible (= big), I was always intrigued by this Infinite Response keyboard that folds in half for easier portability. Here's a review:

I posted this question on the DP forum next door and they have been very helpful as well. The Vax was suggested, but too expensive for me. I travel by air (my second career is as a pilot) but don't have to deal with security or baggage issues.
