My Piano Teacher today during Lesson #6:
"There is a special room for people like you who don't practice dynamics".
This quote is best repeated with a dignified Russian accent, and a humorously stoic demeanor.
Oye!

Oye! Ah, but you have a wise teacher. Besides the quote of the week, I bet she drove home the message about dynamics that you will keep with you for a long, long time. Whenever you catch yourself playing p when it calls for pp, you will probably see that stoic look. Heck, I think I'll see that look. Your teacher was probably grinning inside.

"Ah, you think you can use the pedal to cover yours sins," said in a sexy French accent.
Slow down and do it right.

Slow down and do it right.

"Well... you played all the right notes." Also with a thick Russian accent.

After proudly playing Chopin Nocturne in E minor for my teacher back in Portland Oregon:
"Well, that's one interpretation."

"Well, that's one interpretation." I'm really missing those funny quotes. Well, as you know I've no teacher but I can guarantee I use to speak with myself in a manner that I couldn't reproduce it on a distinct site like PW...

Dipseys dad (Beric) to me during a sight reading lesson: "almost"
Me ; "almost?"
Beric : "almost the right note, nearly at the right time, close to the right duration"

"Try to make some music and not la la la"
La la la was sung in a very children melody. -.-

My first teacher didn't speak English, she tried valiantly to use the CDEFGAB names for the notes, instead of DO, RE, MI, FA, SOL, LA, SI
There were days when I didn't know if she was speaking English and saying "C", or speaking Italian and saying "SI" (for B), or if she was saying "Si!" (for Yes!).... but the funniest was one day when she told me I had to play "R"..... she meant RE, but instead of saying D, ....it came out "R".

After I played a piece:
