B.C.Canada
I'm a returning piano player and discovered this web site and am thrilled with all the info available. I have also just returned to my home in BC Canada where I have a Disklavier DGC1A. I checked the web site and it is now a discontinued model - but the piano bit is fine! I have had it for 10 years now and hardly ever played it.
My grandkids have always loved playing around with the technology and because its so complicated I've never bothered with it. I can never get it sorted out back to how I had it after they've pressed all the buttons anyway.
Now I am seriously back into playing and after 6 months on a cheap Rowland keyboard am totally in love with the Yamaha grand.
Before I wade my way through the 'book of words' I wonder if I should think of getting a new 'black box'? I have only ever used the headphone feature to spare others from listening to my practicing - though I am intrigued by the possibilities of the features offered with the technology.Would love to know your thoughts?

I dont know the type of controller you have on your grand but I upgraded my upright with the dkc850 6 months ago and I consider that the only significant improvement is getting rid of diskettes znd hzving some kind of controm over the computer or via wifi (iphone...) AND the ability to connect to the disklavier radio service which has really nice channels but its subscription is somehow costly .
