Am I the only person to have received a private message regarding Casio AP-620 test recording?

I ask because I really wasn't personally interested in this topic and the message was not personally addressed to me.

Just curious.

Yes, here is the link to my Casio AP-620 test recording which I did a very long time ago (when I owned the AP-620) and this was to show that a "ffff" volume ceiling limitation can be reached with the Casio, whereas there is no limitation to playing "ffff" with the Roland V-Piano, or, a real grand.

Please note the playing was merciless pounding with each double-handed octave scale becoming louder with each and every repetition. I wasn't happy with the Casio anyway as it wouldn't have mattered to me in the least had some keys broken. The piano withstood the beating although a "ffff" limitation was reached.

Don't buy Casio if you want the volume of a concert grand.

pv88, you could have started a new thread with this information and I probably wouldn't have followed it. By sending a private message, one that wasn't personally addressed to me, one that I really wasn't interested in, and then removing yourself from further discussion, smacks to me as SPAM.

Yes, as I should have not started a new thread since I already knew that you and most others (except for diehard Casio fans) wouldn't care less about a Casio recording since you already own a different brand and don't play a Casio.

Anyway this is now the new thread since there are replies and the point of the matter is the recording. And, do not listen if you are timid or can't handle loud sounds.

The recording is not for the faint-hearted.

I think Richard contacts a large number of us privately frequently. For some reason he then amends the posts or deletes them. An endearing trait, I'm sure we'd all agree.

PV88, Casio were some 200 Ys. late, they just had probably Beethoven in mind by constructing the AP620 with such a thundering ffff.

Now that they recognised Beethoven is dead for the past 200 ys. or so and no use of it anymore (because today's people with hearing disabilities have more effective hearing aid options) they decided to retire the AP620 and gave us the AP650 as their next try.

Past thundering wan't emit new lightening.

The V-Piano does not have built in speakers. Put the Casio into an external sound system and you can play it as loud as you'd want, too. Depending on the playbacks system, it can be louder than a concert grand, if you want.

OTOH, if your issue is that you are reaching max volume (MIDI 127) too easily on the Casio, such that more force does not produce any more volume, that might be addressed by changing its velocity curve setting.

I'm not sure I'd use the word "endearing".
