1st movement only so far. I had bought this nice transcription by Matthew Cameron a while ago (after having heard the recording by Cyprien Katsaris).

At slow speed it seemed very straightforward, so I wanted to try and learn it. Well, it turned out at it's more awkward than I thought... laugh
There are some uncomfortable passages and I only noticed now how I'm slowing down in the recording during those...it's a mess cry (even though I made two video cuts), but I don't have more time for this right now, so I'm just sharing it for the fun, maybe someone else also feels inspired to play it.

Comments/suggestions would still welcome of course! A metronome seems an obvious one.. blush

I like Matthew Cameron's transcription of the Adagio from Spartacus:

smile I was working on it, a little, using the youtube video of Katsaris that has the sheet music. (aren't I cheap?) Even up the tempo a bit and you have a nice party piece. Good work!

p.s. I think I noticed Katsaris adds a tiny bit extra to the Cameron transcription.

PLUS, I didn't know any other of his transcriptions. Sounds nice!

Haha, I hope you didn't also try to use the sound of Katsaris as "play-along" laugh

Thanks for the comment, Damon! It definitely needs more work. And, yes, I also thought it would be a nice party piece to have in one's repertoire smile

I didn't listen to his playing with the score so far, but given it's Katsaris I wouldn't be surprised if he's "transcribing the transcription" a bit...

inspiring. I had started this piece about 3o yrs ago and am just starting back. It will take a while to get my strength and endurance back. Boy I'd love to play like that again but have to acknowledge my arthritic limitations.Won't keep me off the keys though!

Great to hear, Palmpirate! It's a fun piece to play on the piano as well, and you'll also be able to give people who are not so familiar with classical music the feeling of recognizing something smile ...enjoy!
