We were able to visit that Bluthner grand again. We could find no serial number either on the soundboard or near the end of the dampers. But in the space between the pins it looks as if the surface has been scraped away. Can anyone else see anything, and if so, what? I know what I think I see, I just want an objective view.

Yup. 'Could be a six there on the end. I was half-way kidding I'm probably a math-challenged clairvoyant, so don't put too much stock in my opinion.
