I'm on the south coast. But would consider it, then decline!

No, seriously I would just be nervous given my ability versus the no doubt plethora of experienced players that would show up. My Alouette versus their Campanella. But, if there was an opportunity to play a nice piano, have fun, meet nice people, learn something, and I could fit it in to my schedule I would give it proper thought. Also I would use it as an opportunity to visit the excellent piano and music stores.

If you mean London, Ontario ... piece of cake. It's my home town so count me in. If you mean London, England well why not. That is, if Canucks are invited. I've never been but have always wanted to. The wiffy in fact is there as we speak and as a result I am looking after 2 snakes, a gecko, a ring neck parakeet and a cat. Thankfully the dog is with someone else and the plants haven't put up much of a fuss.

I'll be happy to get out of this zoo.

I'm hoping to be in the UK this summer We'd be based in London - dates not certain yet...I'd do my best to participate.

I might come ... I can be in London in an hour on the Eurostar. But I'm a difficult person to accommodate, what with the wheelchair and all, so I'd have to know in advance that whatever place I'd be going to would be accessible to me -- which can be trickier than it sounds.

Interesting, idea but I won't be heading back to the home country for a couple of years. I am planning to cycle John O'Groats to Lands End and attend the hopefully by then famous London Piano Party Annual get together.

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

I'd love to join the piano party!
Barcelona is only 1:30 h away from London. If I can plan my working schedule in advance, I'd be able to make it to the meeting.

Maybe it would help to break the ice by setting up some Skype meetings with each other, beforehand?

You had 8 people express an intersted in just a couple of days--- blowing it off so quickly seems pretty negative.

It takes a lot of energy to pull something like this together - and a certain amount of optimism that it could happen.

I don't see why you've thrown the towel in so quickly unless you've decided you dont' really think it is a good idea.

It wouldn't have to be at anyone's home, could be in a music shop -surely we've got some contacts here at PW?

Personally, I'd give it more time to gather interest.

Totally agree with you.
Even some of us were willing to cross borders to join the party. Let's just see how the initial idea evolves!

I too, think that it's too soon to throw in the towel on this. I think eight people would be pretty great, if they all came.

If people would be willing to come to Brussels instead of London (it's pretty accessible by train and air travel from most major European cities ...), then I am willing to look for an appropriate venue somewhere around here. I'd all invite you to my new digs, but I'm still not sure when they will actually be presentable enough to stand company. So ... it would have to be a hotel or a music school of some kind (perhaps we can organise something at the conservatory. I'd have to check).

Any takers?

I was really hoping that there would be more people from London and this could be a regular thing. If people come from abroad it would only be a one off

I get your point but ... it wouldn't have to be.

If we do this and it 'clicks', it might become an annual tradition of sorts. It seems that, yes, in order to get enough people we have to broaden our horizons to include people from all over Europe. But nobody says we have to pick just one location, and then stick to it for all eternity.

We could do one in London, or Brussels, or Barcelona for all I care, and see how it goes. If we all like it and want to do it again, then maybe next year it's Milan, or Prague.
