I noticed one of them forgot to put lipstick on. Otherwise, they look like twins.

Last I heard Manny Ax, there was a young man of maybe 13 or 14 standing outside the venue before the recital who so much like the young Chopin from the images we know that I had to ask him if he was aware of the likeness (which he was). It was an amazing thing. On the other hand, I simply don't see the likeness between Chopin, and Khatia.

I think there's more resemblance in the pose than in the physiognomy. In the photograph, Chopin's eyebrows are a straight horizontal line; hers are arched. Chopin's nose is more bulbous than hers. Her lips a fuller than his.

I don't really see much resemblance except, as I wrote, in the pose.

I disagree. I noticed her resemblance instantly when I saw her in an interview. No poses there. But it's okay.. resemblance is in the eye of the beholder? smile

And it'll never happen. Didn't you know nothing grows in the shade? wink Now before anyone bashes me, I love Khatia's 'European' beauty, and am glad she hasn't gone for Hollywood's 'cookie-cutter' notions of beauty and gone in for a nose-job. She's beautiful as she is, as is her sister Gvantsa![Linked Image][Linked Image]

When I first opened it I was pleased to see JoelW posting here again....since he hasn't actively participated in PW for over a year now. Oops - never mind.

When Freddy first cropped up in PW, I thought the poster was talking about Freddy Krueger.

But maybe that's just me, brought up on horror flicks (swooooon........... 2hearts 3hearts) rather than Wolfie (Mozart), Luddy (Beethoven), Francis (Liszt), Bobby (Schumann) et al.

I think we need to start calling all of them by first name, preferably diminutives grin .....and accordingly, we need a glossary.

Besides the ones that Bennevis said:

Joe: Bach
Dom: Scarlatti
Lixie: Mendelsson
Joe 2: Brahms
Pete: Tchaikovsky
Moddy: Mussorgsky
Eddie: Grieg
Maury: Ravel
Clo: Debussy
Al: Scriabin
Bel: Bartok
Arnie: Schoenberg
Iggie: Stravinsky
Chuck: Ives

Those intimate with J. S. Bach didn't call him Johann, they called him Sebastian or Bastian. Why didn't they use his first name? Well, all the men in the family had Johann as a first name: his father Johann Ambrosius, his uncle Johann Christoph, and his brothers Johann Rudophus, Johann Christoph, Johann Balthasar, Johann Jonas and Johann Jakob.

So maybe we call him Basti?

Franky Liszt?

BTW, the day I think Khatia looks like Chopin is the day I surrender my Man Card...

Casio PX-S3000
Nope, no issues with it at all.
Took lessons from 1960 to 1969, stopped at age 16.
Started again in July 2020 at age 67. Lots more fun now!
