Over twenty years ago I had a couple of churches with studio pianos which had terrific problems with bass string breakage. The pianist had a style of gospel playing - you know the one: pedal down and repetitious pounding of octaves in the bass. My solution was to sell them both Astin Weight monster 600 lb. uprights. I think only one bass string broke in the years they used them.

Now, both these churches have long been electronic keyboard churches. The pianos have not been used or tuned in quite a few years.

What experience has anyone had resurrecting these after 20-25 years?
