I'm so glad it was a joke. Here's a funny one printed in today's Seattle Times: Shocking news

Almost. smile

ha It was a rhetorical question. It was clear it was a joke by then (hence the smilies). No Schadenfreude!

I do realise that. I was playing along. It was my post that acknowledged the joke.

But I seriously was hoping that my happiness with the award and all wouldn't be forgotten that soon either...

And as farmgirl said: I PMed people immediately to let them know about the joke..

Deborah: Fleas freezing!?! hahahaha!

NIKOLAS!!!

I saw your initial post in the morning before going to work (the first day of work at a new job) and felt so sad about it... Just found out at 9pm that it wasn't real.

What the heck? April Fools jokes aren't supposed to be so... *believable* ! smile

Glad to hear everything's fine!

It didn't fool me, and I've seen better April Fool's jokes. And talking about burning scores isn't funny... mad

You had me worried! (Hadn't read all posts, but at least far enough to find it was an April Fool's joke.

Whew. Now I can relax.

Best wishes, Nikolas!

Bad call!

Nah.. it wasn't that bad! I've seen worse! But it's difficult to play a prank in a forum...

Haha that reminds me of what I did on the 1st - me and my friends often play practical jokes on each other, but April 1st was special.. In duos, the other group was supposed to play Mozart 3rd mvt of the 2 piano sonata (brand new for them), but our coach had emailed me to have our group play through our piece. I initially told them about the possibility of them not having to play, because I didn't know if he meant to switch groups completely, so my friend didn't look at the Mozart at all. Then it became clear that they wouldn't have to play at all... I told one of the pianists, and we made an agreement to tell my friend that they DO have to play the Mozart... so on Sunday (day before class) he spent all morning trying to learn it and they "rehearsed" in the afternoon and everything.... and then..... he wanted to kill me hahahhhahahhahah

Joe, Angelina... Thanks...

Angelina: "I've seen worst" isn't too comforting to be honest! grin It was a bit of a bad taste, but in any case it's gone now... As long as customers don't think we're out of business we're fine! grin

But it was evil of you to trick that poor pianist...

*sigh* Salt Lake City
I think it was a good one. Plausible at first, then the burning scores seemed a little peculiar, and then Azerbaijan tipped it into the 4/1 category.

A few years ago, Velonews ran a story about Lance Armstrong getting a carbon fiber collar bone repair that was a classic.

It was absolutely in bad taste. Also, it was not funny at all, more annoying. A joke is something funny, something that makes people laugh. This came off more like a marketing scheme for the company, a free plug. No such thing as bad publicity, right? Is it cool with everyone if I create a new topic and talk about my company for a while? I can pretend it's doing bad and then reveal it's actually doing great, it will be the best joke ever! Look out, Conan!

It's not even April 1st anymore, and I had the misfortune of reading this crap today, so irritating. Why is the thread still here?

Also, like the boy who cried wolf, when the company does go under, no one will believe it, having been tricked previously. You shouldn't toy with peoples emotions.

If you're going to market yourself, use the proper channels, that's what facebook is for.

Here's the biggest problem with this post:

When I go to Google and type in "Editions Musica Ferrum", the link to this thread is the SECOND one that comes up. While the date is listed, I doubt anyone googling the publishing company in a month or two will look closely.

The joke (which I thought was pretty obvious) was all in good fun, but it may backfire.

I'm going to lock the thread and give everyone a day or two to reflect on this post, then I'll do my best to change the topic line so that, hopefully, the announcement of EDF's closing won't be so prominently displayed on Google. (Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about Google's indexing. Hopefully it'll catch up sooner than later.)
