Hi guys I just got my first piano home last week.
I learnt piano during first year of college (the dorm has piano room) due to interest in Chopin's work. Played around a year then gave up for the next 10 years.

Now I got my own piano I can play everyday isn't that wonderful?

I am officially a member of adult beginner laugh

Sounds great for a work in progress. smile

I think you need to work on your evenness a little bit. Yes, rubato is acceptable in Chopin, but only to a certain extent, and this may be an example of overuse. Try to coordinate your hands a little better (ie playing the melody in sync with the left hand notes/chords) and have the tempo be more steady. Not metronomically of course. smile

Regards,

Polyphonist

Very nice sound. Beautiful piano, and welcome to the ABF. Does your Pleyel let you play anything not Chopin like some Beethoven or does it just drop its fallboard on your hands? Haha, just teasing.

Just beautiful. Great inspiration for me since I just started working on this mazurka with my teacher.

Thanks.

Lovely piece well played! Mind if I share this on Facebook from YouTube?

I do not mind at all, in fact, shares for sharing, Larry smile

Polyphonist, thanks for the suggestion. I agree with everything you suggested, this is one of the easiest piece by Chopin, though one of my favorite - my poor technical capability still cannot keep up.
rubato wise, i like over dosed mazurka laugh

4everbeginer, the piano is lucky to have a master like me - who only listen and plays chopin laugh

weiyan, thanks for the comments

jrcallan, good luck with it. i noticed there are several different versions of this piece.

Bravo, Steven! Tell us again what kind of piano you ended up with. The sound is especially lovely, and I recall you sharing your purchase process, but I forgot the outcome.

Hope this instrument gives you many years of joy!

I missed all those threads but I can see it is a thing of beauty! Congratulations and I'm terribly jealous wink
