Here's a larger version of it. What about the hand on the left, where the first joint seems to be collapsing each time? Is the one on the right "better"? Can we tell?

Edit - found this afterward: Here's the accompanying article on the study. They used 12 pianists, started them with slower tempi and then increased. S17 to the left could not go the faster tempi, while S24 (right) could go up to the fastest tempo.

Interesting, but the video is a bit creepy looking.... makes me think of very big spiders (shudders)

I wouldn't take either (or anything) as a model, but the article was sort of interesting to read in a general way. The images were created by having the pianists wear gloves with embedded sensors, and then creating the images via programming and reading the data.
