does anyone know if the the P155 will be updated at Musikmesse in April this year? it's been over 4 years since it came out!

what's a good price for a used one now considering an imminent update?

thanks!

also what might be some of the expected updates to this model? would it be worth waiting several more months for it to be released?

Was a replacement announced at NAMM in January? If so, it should soon be available. If not ...

Everyone expected a P155 replacement at NAMM, but it did not materialise.

My money is on Musikmesse.

When new products appear in the Winter NAMM, they show up in stores within a few months.

But ... are you looking for something newer/better than the P155? I'm betting the replacement will be little more than a new chrome job and some big-talk marketing terminology ... with no real improvement at all. (This is typical.)

The only real benefit might be that existing stock of P155s will have to be cleared ... often at reduced prices. You might want to grab one of those and skip the replacement model. It's a good choice. The P155 is probably the best unit in its price range.

You might expect a new sound engine which is hugely different from spec but make minor difference in reality. Also an ivory like keytop, which I don't quite like.
I think p155 replacement should be like ydp161 to 162 upgrade.

So if you do not care, you can find a discount p155 and buy it now.

thanks guys. i actually like the ivory over the smooth. based on the current model i think the new model will cost me 1100 plus 12% tax just for the keyboard when it hits the market down the road. is $600 for a used p155 with stand, metal pedal and padded gig bag a good deal?

It sounds like a fair deal. $500 seems like it might be too cheap, and $700 is creeping up on just getting a brand new one w/full warranty for $800-850 (less stand+bag, but still.) Assuming it's in fine working condition of course.

FWIW --

I checked the "MusiciansFriend.com" website.

. . . P155 -- new -- $1000.

. . . P155 used, damaged (non-working keys) -- $500.

It sounds like you might have a good deal on the used P155.

Especially if you don't plan on using all keys.
