Hi, I recorded Chopin Nocturne opus Posth on C# minor on the trends on both sampled and modeled Piano, there are mistakes. Is not the same midi file as I played once on each one.

Hope this helps people to decide, my choose?, Pianoteq because Ivory sounds like a very good recording of a Steinway D when everything went good, and sounds good as that, as a recording and its very close to the real thing as I played a D a couple months ago and it was very similar however you miss many things that only happen on an acoustic piano and Pianoteq delivers that.

These are the links, also if you have any feedback on my interpretation I'd appreciate them as I'm studying piano by myself at this moment, I played a bit when I was a child 20 years ago and now I got an acoustic Erard and I'm trying to learn this time.
So if you liked it or hated it pls tell, I know there are mistakes but I mean beyond that.

Controller is a clavinova.

Hi,
if you need an opinion, here is my one.
Not bad overall. You feel the music in a right way and perform with a good expression as it should be when you play Chopin. But IMHO you sometimes brake the rhythm, making it uneven. It is a romantic song so let it flow free to listeners like a midnight river.

Regards,
Vlad

I like them both, though they are clearly very different. However, I know from experience that I tend to perceive piano sound differently when listening to a recording and when playing so maybe I would like one of then considerably more than the other when actully playing the piano.

I know that people tend to characterize Pianoteq as audibly artificial, not pleasing - can anyone clearly identify that one recording is lovely and one horrible? I can't hear it.

As for the performance - I really like it, just watch out for th rhythm sometimes:-) I am not very familiar with the piece and I don't really like how people play the opening sequence but it is probably how it is meant to be played:-)
There are some funny sound artifacts in the Pianoteq version.

OT, if my teacher told me that, I would look for a new teacher. It's useless information IMHO. Midnight river: icy cold, black, sinister ripple sounds, dangerous. Pfft. smile

The Pianoteq one sounded best to me. This is interesting; I have a Yamaha piano/keyboard and am wondering if I would have any problems othe than being unable to play back through the piano speakers (there`s no input!), like, time delay etc . . .
