There's an intriguing thread on this forum titled "Dating of a Bluthner Grand". Has anyone in this thread tried that? What would you use for an opening line? How would you dress? What movie would you take a Bluthner Grand too? I confess, I'm at a loss.

Funny you should say that David, I HONESTLY read that title and thought the "same" thing!!! No lie. It made me laugh when I read it.

Anyways, we are just having to RAM thru winter. And I think "more" cars need "fur"!

My Dear Mr. Jenson,

In cases where one is unsure of proper dress for an occasion, it is always best to surpass expectations for a "Grand" event. Formality is indicated, and a gentleman will arrive dressed in white tie and tails. Fräulein Bluthner has clearly stated her expectations for the grand occasion and a dinner jacket with black tie would be improper.

Also, your carriage horses must be trained to vigorously whinny whenever the lady's name is spoken. Your footman, Igor, will attend to that detail.

Remember, it is proper to always put your candle back.

The heck with that Marty. Pull up your farmer blue jeans, snap on the thingy dingy's that flip over your shoulders, snap them up, put on your farmer "Mr. Green Jeans hat" then put on the boots that you just wore cleaning up poo poo and take THAT to the dealership with smelly cash in your pocket. You'll be looked at like a drifter but, little do they know you have cash to pay for it. hehehe

My Dear Herr Groot,

I always wear barn boots when negotiating with Fräulein Bluthner. Cash transactions are always appropriate in certain circumstances.

I avoided posting anything in the Bluthner thread which I think shows sterling character. I've sidetracked enough serious threads as it is. In this, I finally showed some class. That thread just begged to be busted, but I resisted. I'm so proud of myself!!!

Like you, I laughed, and expected the thread to take an undignified turn. I appreciate all the dating advice I've received subsequently, but some of it has me scratching my head a bit. Apparently it's a delicate, confusing subject.

The clip is an ad for internet banking, as in: don't put all your secrets on the internet, give them to US instead!

I'm not sure what you're referring to here, Marty, but I do know one thing: it is even more proper to never to split your infinitive. laugh

Ah yes, Mark -

Obviously, you have never seen "Young Frankenstein." Without so doing, you would miss the humor of the posting and the use of a split infinitive.

It is so much easier to split an infinitive that to split one's sides.
