Happy day to you too, Ann!

(If it weren't so early, I might think your little dancing guy had been drinking!)

Now that I look at the dancer more closely, he does look tipsy.

Is that awareness of single things? Of things being single? One-mindedness? Single mindedness? Being unmarried and unattached? (perplexed and too lazy to google)

OK. I'll explain. I saw my 16 year old son posted "Happy single awareness day" on FB. Then it occurred to me how acutely aware people are of their relationship status on Valentine's Day. Single or Married with Disappointments.

I should have called it "Relationship Awareness Day"...or "Lackluster Love life Day".

I'm guessing that people have one good Valentine's Day...maybe at age 18 or 19 totally enchanted with each other, and then it's all downhill from there. Valentine's Day thereafter recurs as a bit of a downer. So I tried to brighten it up by having a stick man dance...but it turned out he was just stumbling around drunk.

In other words, this wish for a happy day goes out to all those who feel alone on Valentine's day (whether they're in a relationship or not). So yes, Nikolas, your situation counts. smile

Happy Valentine's Day. This year I posted gifts to all of my single friends and I have to say their excitement made the day so much better. I normally feel somewhere in between not bothered and vaguely depressed.

Thanks for your honesty. I try not to let Valentine's Day bother me. This time was one of my more successful tries. Then as it turned out a student brought me a 3.5 oz Ghiradelli chocolate bar with raspberry filling. What a surprise! I decided that for the moment, I like Valentine's Day after all.

In the full reply box (the one you get to when you click "reply" to a specific post) there's a button (4th one along from the left) which is "enter an image". You link to an online image using that.

You know, they have "Gay Pride Week" . . . & I'm straight as an arrow. I don't get all depressed cause they won't let me in on their parade,

You know, I think Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate couples.
It's one day, . . . not a week!

If you singles want a day, make one! But leave Valentine's Day for Lovers! It's just one day. Enjoy all the other 364 days of the year.

Just sayin'

Well... just sayin'

I think you lovers can celebrate 365 days a year all you want and nobody's stopping you! And this is coming from a person who's been in love with his wife for more than 10 years now! wink

Well they now have "Grandparent's Day"! I'm not crying in the sink cause I'm not a grandparent!

I say if you are single be happy for those who are in a relationship. Don't do the sour grapes thing! Celebrate Valentine's Day for them. And be happy for those who are couples! If your parents didn't become a couple and fall in love, you wouldn't be here! More reason to say, go Valentine's Day! Let's hear it for Lovers!

Just sayin' again!
