I drove by my Yamaha dealer and tried this again yesterday. They offered it to me for $1,500 + tax. No question it is nice for a slimline unit. The response is satisfactory. Undecided on the volume itself; sounds a little darker than the P155 for instance which I liked.

I cannot say it offers anything different from YDP 161; yes it is using Pure CF sampling but I could not differentiate between that tone and the YDP 181 tone which they had on display.

I prefer the look of the YDP 1xx's though.

In my opinion this piano would be a good deal at $1,300. The dealer was trying to tell me that it was the only Arius with "Clavinova" sound but I told him that was all marketing hype and he was displeased.
