FINALLY.

I've been playing piano (or rather keyboards/digital pianos) for the last 9 years and at 29 years old, I finally got my first grand piano. It's a 1997 Kawai RX-2. Not the greatest piano, but it sure beats the heck out of any digital, including the AvantGrand N1 I owned for 18 months. It was a one owner, barely, played piano and is in great shape. Will definitely want to trade up to a finer European grand down the line, but I'm pretty happy with it. smile

Looks lovely, may it bring you many years of happiness (until you get that European grand anyway)

Neil.

Why would you want a European piano? Kawaii is a very nice instrument, I almost bought one myself. Congratulations, and enjoy the music.

Good for you. Is that with a satin finish?

Looks like a really nice grand, and, I bet it sounds fantastic compared to all of those other digitals you have played on.

Also, be sure to let everyone know (over in the "Digital Piano" forum) as they might want to eventually "convert" to an acoustic, just as you have.

As for myself, still have the V-Piano and the newer Kawai CA95, which gives me plenty of decent Kawai "EX" concert grand simulation.

Congratulations, on a very nice choice!

Yeah, I'd say that door's not opening anytime soon. smile I do hope it has weatherstripping to prevent any chill/hot winds from blowing on your lovely new instrument. And you'll want to be sure that the heat from that floor vent is directed away from the piano.

Enjoy! It's a beauty.

Congratulations - I'm sure you'll get many years of enjoyment out of it.

I see you've got it placed on saucers. Like I did when I got my first grand. Trying to protect the floor. Only trouble, I had a sore ankle within a week, as the pedals were that same distance off the floor.

I had 2 choices - to make a pad for under my heel the same height, or take the saucers out. I opted for the latter.

Wow - congratulations Zac! May this piano give you imagination and enjoyment without end.

(And before looking for the next step up - find a good technician to keep your instrument in shape, or even improve it. That might be more important than the brand name written on it.)

No need to 'trade up' (even to a European brand) - it's an acoustic, not a digital - and a great grand piano!
