Hi, I'm trying to buy my first digital piano, and one of the models that was recommended to me a Kawai cl 26, I found used for 800 american in near mint condition. Is that a fair price?

that's a nice piano - I don't think you would go wrong at that price. Maybe 750 if you can.

The CL-26 is almost never discussed here, it seems. Spec-wise it seems to be more or less close to the ES3, in Kawai's low-end range. The ES3 has had a couple of really great reviews, considering its price.

You can buy the CL-26 new on Kawai's site for $1099. Usually that is above the market price and the piano doesn't feature a recent action or tone generator. I don't think you will find it for $800 new anywhere, but my guess is that it's not a particularly huge discount either. I'd push for a lower price, personally.

A "fair" price is whatever you are sort of willing to pay for it, though. So you can tell me. It certainly seems like a reasonable piano and a price that is of the right order of magnitude.

Do you have a price in mind that you would push for?

nybatteri543764, yes, I would say that $800 is a fair price for a second hand CL26, given that this instrument is relatively new. However, as with any second-hand purchase, there's perhaps a little room to bargain further, if you're feeling ambitious.

gvfarns, while the CL26 utilises the same AHA IV-F keyboard action as the EP3 (not ES3 - that's a much older model), the piano sound is higher quality thanks to the 88-key sampling.

Kind regards,
James
