I picked up my new Kawai CA65 today and brought it home and assembled it. Assembly was pretty straight forward and easy. For a minute I didnt think it was going to fit into my small Honda CRV. That last nudge and it made it all the way to the front seats. Had to tie the back door shut. I have been playing on it for about 4 hours tonight and dont even want to go to bed! It is a wonderful instrument. Today was a good day! grin

Congrats - both on your new piano, and squeezing it in the back of your CRV!

Cheers,
James

I'm thinking of buying one of these too. Is it packed in more than one box and are the boxes liftable by one person or did you have help?

Everything is in 1 ( huge ) box smile
Definately NOT liftable by 1 person. I think it's around 80 kg's ... It was a big undertaking to get my CA65 to the first floor. In case you also have to go to another floor: open the box on the ground floor and cary the seperate pieces upstairs. The keyboard has 2 handles in the back for carying. Take off the slippery plastic first though.

Congratulations on your new DP!!! Enjoy!!!

OT: Honda CRV, hmmm, what a luxury DP transporter! I transported mine in my Ford Ka. And I managed to drive with the rear lid closed! I remember, there was so much rain that day (yes it heavily rains in (northern) Spain), that I have had to significantly reduce speed on the motorhighway, because waterfilm was getting too high on the street. Hahaha, you reminded me about a wonderful trip!
Seriously: I unpacked my DP in the vendors store, checked quickly that its electronics appear to function by plugging in the power cable and play all keys just once, and then well wrapped blister foam blankets around the main unit, and around the individual pieces of the wooden stand. I let the empty boxes with their huge styropor forms in the store. Like this the original two boxes became reduced to half size without being in anyway of danger to damage the instrument or my beautifully rusty 11 years old Ka during transport.

Digital piano in a Ford Ka? laugh Oh, man... Poor car. smile

I see you are using HP-505, however. Has Kawai turned out not to your liking?
