I decided to take a break before presenting a range of Liszt works with something "easy" by Schumann. However the Carnaval in Vienna was rather more problematic that I had originally calculated. This is with repeats and is performed at an effective tempo (though, as usual, a little slower and rather different than than my Richter/Michelangeli benchmarks). It comprises an Allegro, Romanze, Scherzino, Intermezzo and Finale (to be played "as fast as possible"!)

Owwww. I need a little wein before listening to that Wien.

I have a five year old recording of my fourteen year old son playing this piece. There is a slight quality difference ... in the playing as well as the recording. grin

This recording clearly shows the tonal the beautiful sound that can be achieved by playing on a great piano and using top notch recording equipment.
