Hi all, I am a newbie who is very happy to have found this forum and is looking for advice on what would work the best to connect my new P105 piano and my old PSRE423 keyboard to a speaker system or amp to get the best possible sound quality for home use and for the occasional jam/small party...

Thanks for the link - I will check them out - do you think a keyboard amp will sound better than a 2.1 computer speaker system then for example? Also does anyone know if the TYros speaker system is compatable/adaptable to the P105 and PSR?

Monitor speakers will probably offer superior quality to a keyboard amp, however the later will deliver more punch when the volume is cranked up.

Cheers,
James

Studio monitors will provide a clearer sound in general at that price than a amp.
I would recommend looking at KRK Rokit 5 monitors.
A pair would be under $300.
I used them on my Roland Juno and was quite pleased with how they sounded on piano patches.
