I'll be living in Sydney for the next 5 months and I'm hoping to rent an upright piano to keep me company. Can anyone recommend a piano rental place in Sydney?

Welcome to Sydney.
Try them out first at The Piano Showroom (lower north shore, Balmoral Beach direction) at Cremorne

http://www.pianoshowroom.com.au/

and Hutchings (Eastern suburbs, Bondi Beach direction)

http://hutchingspianos.com.au/contact

I would recommend bargaining, as these piano places are competitive. But you will have to pay full delivery costs to and fro, as they use a third party for delivery.

Thanks for the welcome, custard apple! I just arrived in Sydney a couple of days ago, in time for the spectacular New Year's Eve fireworks. Thanks also for the piano rental suggestions. I'll definitely check out those places.

Thank you currawong and Chopin Addict for the welcome! I am thrilled to be here, especially considering the fact that it's 79 deg F in Sydney and I left behind a foot of snow and freezing temperatures in Ann Arbor, Michigan!

By the way, are there any amateur piano groups in Sydney?

sometimes posts here. I got information from his

website that helped me get a piano. I am sure he would

certainly know what your best options are and where.

Someone, Jolteon, just posted a Happy New Year and says he is from Perth, Australia, so another option for info.

jazzyprof is in Sydney though. Awfully long way from Perth, or even Melbourne.

Perth is more or less at the same level as Sydney, but on the opposite coast, a long distance in a big country. smile
