Holy cow - just finished my piano search and finally BOUGHT after 1+ years of looking. Jeesh - why is the process so difficult!?! Anyway, no looking back now. Ready for the new baby to arrive.

Thanks Piano World! I spent many a night on this forum educating myself. I visited every store in the area, "nearly" bought several times, read Larry Fine's piano book cover to cover, and finally landed on the Schimmel. Deciding factors for me were quality, company reputation, manufacturers warranty, and price. Honestly though - i wasn't really locked on a brand and considered several to the very end across a variety of price levels. I could now write a book on the various selling tactics in my area.

This piano is for my children. I am happy tonight. Let's hope the feeling lasts well after the check clears! wink My children now need to earn music scholarships to college.

Nice story. I bet my book would be even longer than yours!

Congratulations - but 1+ years isn't long. I was 2½ yrs, though I'd started 2½ yrs before that. In between, I had 2 excursions - I bought an Allen Organ first time. Second, I bought a "temporary - fill-in in-between piano (which happened to be a Schimmel C182 as well). Then, finally I settled on what will be my (almost certainly!!??) LAST piano.

Enjoy the piano.

Wow that's Cool. I tried one a few years ago and it was quite a beautiful instrument.

Congratulations. You will love your Schimmel. I love mine. It took me even, a couple of years before I found this one too, 9 years ago now and I still love it!

Congrats. I have been researching Schimmel as well. Not much out there on the Classic 182 but lots on the concert series. I am glad to hear you decided on the Schimmel as I am leaning that way too.

The concert series is really the only series I ever knew.
When playing both series recently side by side, I found them personally quite different.

Congrats - enjoy your piano!

Congratulations on your new piano. I played on that model several years ago and found it to be a wonderful instrument. I might have bought had I been in the market back then. It will give you years of enjoyment.
