Hello everyone,

I’m looking for used piano for my 8 years old daughter and this is the one fit my budget.

Please help to see if this price is reasonable or better?

Piano Baldwin Hamilton - $2000, Model Hamilton E-250, serial # 0479436 2001 purchased.

Thanks very much for any input!

You need a piano technician to look at and give it a good inspection prior to purchase. There are to many factors involved for guess work. Would you ask someone online if a car was any good to buy without having someone check it out first? 😧

I do plan hire tech with me to see the piano if it’s in reasonable price, but if it’s overprice, I won’t even to see it.

Still, how can we give any decent advice if it's a good piano, it's had good care, if it's been tuned, or tell you its actual value without seeing the piano? That's what the tech is for.

If it's only about 11 years old, it may be alright. But, then again, depending on where it's been setting, in direct sunlight, or over a heat register all of these years, it could have a cracked sound board. Maybe not, but, anything is possible in 11 years or so.

How will anyone determine if the price is correct without first inspecting the piano?

I have no knowledge regarding piano at all, I thought maybe there is a market basic value for used piano, just like used car, you can find the car’s book value such as Kelly blue book etc.

I just wonder is there such kind of guide or reference so I can at least know the market price for the 2001 Hamilton piano.
