Merry Christmas everyone
One gift this year was a quiet house today (we had the family gathering the last two days) so I could play the piano and play the piano and I think I'll go play some more. The Mendelssohn is very tough for me. I know that playing every day has improved my smoothness, keyboard sense, and speed. Thank you MOYD

My sentiments exactly, before I joined MOYD I practiced my assigned pieces but I didn't feel like I was making progress to those pieces I had always wanted to play. Now with a new teacher and MOYD I have learned three pieces from the list, that goes ever on, but I am thrilled that I can play those pieces now. I am always finding new pieces on PW; before the "Themed Recital " I had heard of Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words, now I have this new found love of Mendelssohn. Thanks to CasinItaly for creating MOYD!

Oh no! After getting this far, I missed a day yesterday! In my defence, I think I had (& have) flu. Yesterday, I was dragging myself around to get Christmas dinner on the table. I had a guest coming for dinner, could have cancelled, but decided figuring out what to do with the turkey today, that I should have cooked yesterday, would've been worse than just getting it done yesterday. & dinner was up to my usual standard - although I didn't eat much, & probably wasn't my usual sparkling hostess-self, my friend ate lots & enjoyed it. I'm feeling quite a lot better today, but not well enough to brave the Boxing Day sales, so will definitely spend time at the piano.

Where is the MOYD thread for 2013? I want to play!

I've practiced every day since I started taking lessons in May (okay, RE-started....).
Only days I missed were when I was traveling, and I can provide a note from my travel agent...

Hi everyone, just back from out of town so I'll be putting myself on the absent list from 22-28. We went to spend Christmas with family.

Joyoussong - too bad you were sick right at the end, but that's legit - a sick day is an excused day!
BeccaBb, Wisebuff, Irene Adler Oongawa, It is really great to hear how MOYD has been so helpful!

I have to clarify though that I didn't start MOYD, I've just been the "caretaker" for a couple of years. Before me it was Mark.. and before that, honestly I'm not sure. The idea goes back to 2005, I only joined PW in 2010 !

I'll be starting up the new thread later today!

I haven't been on PW in awhile. Regardless, I didn't make it through for the MOYD 2012 list.

I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.

Well then you're in luck Cyborg! It's now time for the 2013 Edition!

Congratulations to all who participated in 2012 and best of luck to the 2013 participants. Get practicing!

Happy New Year to all!
