Good to see you back here, Tobias! smile

I imagine it was on purpose that you didn't give the common name! But why? I think you're cutting down on your potential audience, here as well as elsewhere if you do the same thing, because people won't know what it is. The common title is a big draw. "Chorale from Cantata 147" isn't. I mean, I suspected that it was what it is, because I don't know of any other common Bach arrangement by Myra Hess. But that was just luck. smile

On to the performance: Terrific! I've worked on this and I know how hard it is to do it justice. I would tend to give it more repose and less force, i.e. a somewhat slower tempo and gentler dynamics -- I think yours is a relatively 'forceful' interpretation! But for sure this is very good. There's just one specific thing I'd point out: you have a little pause at 1:11 that I don't think you intended. (Or did you?)

Good to see you here again. Hope things have been good!

I have been thinking of finding my copy and playing it as well. Jesu was one I played in church each Christmas.

I also play it much slower with more detailed melody dynamics. But thank you for sharing. So hard to keep it under control and steady.

So beautiful.

I found it somewhat unsteady rhythmically with many little rhythmic glitches that I could not understand and don't think were really intentional.

I noticed in you YouTube site you play Bist du bei mir. Do you know the Warren transcription of this piece?

Thanks for the comments! I'll experiment with some different (slower) tempos. When recording I was apparently in a lively mood ;-)

I think that little hesitation was (kind of) intended, but maybe it still shouldn't be there. :-)

No I didn't know it, thanks for pointing it out! It's a beautiful arrangement. If you can help me with finding it, please look in your PM :-)

I think we can put it in the category of "Seemed like a good idea at the time...."

Hi Tobias,

Vey good. Bravo!

I think you can take a tad slower tempo.

I enjoyed listening. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed that. The timing was right to my ears. It is a melodious quite lively, flowing piece and a favourite of mine when I worked at the Crem. . sort of struck the right balance.
