Be sure to check out Hiromi Uehara, who has chops to match Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum (just to name two), and, is a brilliant virtuoso pianist that is definitely worth giving an ear to... at the height of her current career, Hiromi's playing incorporates elements from classical training and jazz, and, even some other pop/modern styles are included:

Also, if you happen to like Chick Corea, then listen to this:

The duo playing above features Hiromi's original piece titled "Old castle, by the river, in the middle of a forest."

There is really fantastic interplay between Hiromi and Chick in this one!

The Bluthner Klavier 2 sells for 3360 euros at pianometropool, 60 more than a Roland HP307PE.

It was the sound and feel of a Bluthner Model one grand piano that led to a strong desire to learn to plan piano; something that my Yamaha Clavinova digital never could inspire.

Since she left my house 5 years ago, I've been on a quest to replace her. I've tried many grands, Yamahas, Steinways, Bostons, Baldwins and nothing came close to the feel (light, like butter) or sound, booming base and crisp treble.

I played an upright Bluthner Model A that was beautiful and would have satisfied me and ended by search but the price was around $40,000. I'm too old and just a beginner to justify spending that much on my yearning to play George Winston's "Thankgiving".

With the arrival of two kids, silent practice on a digital piano is now a requirement. Since the death of my Clavinova, I've had the CVP507 in my sights but backed off when I saw the MSRP in the 9 grand area.

A Roland was out of the question until I found this forum and a V Piano would have been in my home but I could not find one to play. I did play a V-Grand; nice but not that much better than a Kawai CA93. The Kawai was priced just a little less than the Roland (HP307PE for $8700 marked down to $7500). When I found out from this forum that piano dealers operate just like car salesmen, I went back to the piano lot and sure enough, the price dropped to $5K for the 307, and the V-Grand dropped from $23,000 to 20K to 17.5K to $15K. Exactly like buying a Ford, F250.

I did get Apple's Garage Band to play thru my broken CVP-83S, but the action is thumpy on the bottom of the key stroke as well as at the top of the release of the key.

If these Klaviers sound and play like their big daddy, perhaps my search will be over. I will follow one of the rules of this forum and "Try before you Buy".

The CA93 is a great piano, certainly.... but $7500?!
Employed by Kawai Japan, however the opinions I express are my own.

The CA93 can be had for less than $5000, that dealers charging way too much. I agree though, the CA93 is an amazing instrument. Sets the bar high. If not for the AvantGrand N1, I'd have a Kawai CA93 in my home. Sometimes I wish I would've gone for the Kawai instead, saved $3500 and put the $3500 towards a real grand piano. After all, one can certainly build technique just fine an a CA93. Great touch, great tone, real soundboard. I do love my N1 though, and it least I have the comfort of knowing I'm practicing on a real grand piano action.

Did any of you tried this piano? During reading their specification, it seems like in opposite to Rolands Yamahas etc market leaders, their pianos are using not sampling but some kind of virtual piano.

Maybe inside is pianoteq?

I am asking, because at it's low price it cam be attractive purchase, but Bluthner forgot completely about marketing frown
Even the demo sounds doesn't work on the eklavier site.

Hey, this is exciting. Surely Bluthner wouldn't put out anything half-baked. The e-Klavier 2 Is priced at £4,000 mrp, so similar to an NU1, which is setting the bar quite high.

I rang their London Piano centre just now, and they have the e-Klavier 2 in their showroom, but not an e-Klavier 1. I'm going to go over there in a couple of hours, and check the 2 out. I shall report back.
