I spent about an hour playing a Steinway D in a local performing arts auditorium this evening in practice for a Christmas show. When I returned home, I sat down to my 7'3" Yamaha in the concern that it wasn't as nice as I thought, BUT, I was still very pleased with it's sound. I can sleep well tonight, Deep bass, sparkling highs, and a comparable light touch. It's satisfying to be content! BTW, the Steinway was a 1963 that was fully rebuilt about 10 years ago, and was recently gone over by a genuine Steinway tech.
Ignorance is bliss, but I feel that I'm not quite that ignorant. Ever have a happy experience like this after playing a magnificent piano then returning to your own?
