Hi there - slightly O/T but a question that teachers are more likely to be able to answer.

I remember a Mozart piece that was in the ABRSM grade 8 syllabus in the past - probably the 2001-2, maybe 2003-4. I can't find the syllabus online anywhere and I wondered if anyone can tell me what it was?

I'm pretty sure it was in either G major or D major. But that doesn't narrow it down a huge amount if I were to look through all he wrote.

Thanks a lot.

What if you contacted the ABRSM or got a hold of their syllabus from that period?

I figured that they would have had it up on their website anyway if they wanted people to know it's not exactly hard to do) - but I've popped them an email to ask.

In Canada we have the RCM rather than ABRSM, and that organization has been helpful for information when it was needed. It would seem simple for them to know which Mozart pieces were in the grade 8 syllabus.

There could be a variety of reasons for that information to be available to an email query, but not on the website. For example, depending on when the website went up, the past syllabi may never have been converted to a format (pdf, probably) for the website. (The electronic files for printing professionally may well not be pdf files.) Or, they may have found that it's confusing to have past syllabi on the website, causing people to use the wrong requirements when preparing for tests. Or they may not have thought anyone would be interested, and simply not included the past syllabi in the website design. Etc.

Hi rockbadger,

I found this 2001-02 ABRSM grade 8 anthology:

http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/Piano-Anthology-for-ABRSM-2001-02-Grade-8/4371899

I hope it helps.
